Spearmint is known as an uplifting oil that alleviates fatigue and
depression while aiding mental clarity.  It is known to be sweeter with a
lighter menthol overtone than peppermint.  It has been used as a
local/topical anesthetic, antispasmodic, astringent, decongestant,
digestive, diuretic, expectorant, stimulant and restorative.  Though it
blends well with many oils, if it is used as the major component in a
blend, it will bring to mind the chewing gums that it is used to flavor.
